Evaluating demand side factors that affect institutional credit use and profitability of small-scale growers of roots and tubers: Evidence from Cameroon's South West region

In this study, demand-side variables affecting the use of institutional finance with small-scale growers roots and tubers profitability in Cameroon's southwest are investigated. Using a multi-step stratified straightforward random sample process, 837 respondents were chosen. study was found that as farm size grows, so does likelihood loan need. A farmer more years farming expertise has opportunities to demand finance. Credit institutions willing lend couples because they believe will be able repay loans collectively. Educated farmers certain using borrowing grow their investment yield output cover repayments due knowledge production processes record keeping. Further, credit users for cassava, cocoyam, yam higher than non-users credit. New techniques identifying financially disadvantaged rural poor Region should created by focusing on metrics would increase efficiency entrepreneurs take them closer frontier.
